Climbing for a Cause: Letizia Pileggi’s Journey to Empower Women Worldwide

Italian-American entrepreneur Letizia Pileggi is turning her lov of mountain climbing into a global force for women's empowerment. Her upcoming summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is a fundraising initiative for Climb Your Everest (CYE), a non-profit dedicated to empowering marginalized women through education.

Letizia's personal journey, growing up in a conservative Italian family, instilled in her a deep understanding of the transformative power of education in fostering independence and breaking societal constraints.

Her Kilimanjaro climb directly supports CYE's educational programs in Nepal, the Philippines, India, and other countries. CYE equips women with essential skills that lead to self-sufficiency and enable them to become active contributors within their communities. The organization's core values emphasize resilience, strength, humility, and humanity in the pursuit of empowerment. Letizia's ascent aims to amplify the critical role of education in the advancement of women worldwide.

Letizia's commitment to this cause solidified in 2024 following an introduction to Dr. Sara Safari's Climb Your Everest and a subsequent impactful visit to Nepal. Her time at Everest Base Camp, conducting workshops and connecting with the local community, reinforced her dedication to empowerment initiatives.

This fully self-funded expedition ensures that 100% of all donations directly support CYE's vital work. Letizia's climb serves as a powerful illustration that challenges can be catalysts for growth, inspiration, and meaningful change. Her fundraising goal of $1 per foot of elevation on Kilimanjaro pays for 50 girls to go to school one whole year. (The cost for each girl is 30$ a month)

Letizia's message is a call to action: We all face our own "Everest." By embracing our strengths and dismantling barriers, we can collectively inspire progress and achieve unprecedented outcomes.
