Meeting the Omid Foundation

I had the privilege to visit Omid Foundation in Tehran and meet these amazing and powerful girls who inspired me to the moon. I decided to climb the highest peak in Antartica to raise funds and awareness for these beautiful talented girls. Omid foundation provides education and self-empowerment for disadvantaged girls in Iran. I arrived at the center around 1pm to eat lunch with the girls and staff. Lunch was loubia polo with cucumber salad. Right away we started talking about their life. I asked the girl next to me to tell me more about herself and her interests. Maryam with big brown eyes and a red scarf said that she likes to be an artist. She said she has been inspired by the volunteer art teachers who visit the center and she wants to become an actress. She also talked about her appreciation of the center and the staff. She said “My life completely has changed since I joined the center, I am a different person, I have confidence.” Their hopefulness and positive energy was inspiring beyond words.
